Smirnoff Celebrates Cinco de Mayo with Iconic Spicy Tamarind Line

Any opportunity to kick back and celebrate is a welcome one! So naturally, I was thrilled when Smirnoff invited me to join them for a Spicy Tamarind Happy Hour in honor of Cinco de Mayo!

Hosted at Bella Union, Smirnoff offered a full selection of tasty drinks – and bites – highlighting the Spicy Tamarind line that they originally debuted in 2020.

Bites included classic nachos and guacamole, to Chipotle and Tamarind BBQ Sliders and Spicy Tamarind Shrimp Skewers courtesy of food blogger and cookbook author, Esteban Castillo.

For something sweet, pastry and dessert chef Jocelyn Delk Adams was on-site and party-ready with Tajin Upside Down Pineapple Cake and Guava Empanadas.

Now for the drinks!

Smirnoff treated us to Spicy Tama-Rita’s, Tamarind Coladas, and – naturally – Spicy Tamarind shots!

Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind vodka bottles are outfitted in colorful Día De Muertos-inspired glow-in-the-dark under blacklight design and boasts an authentic combination of sweet tamarind flavor with notes of spicy Mexican chilies and lime. All bottles feature a Calavera (skull) at the center surrounded by cempasúchiles (marigolds), tamarind and chiles, the eye-catching packaging gives a nod to the vibrancy of Mexican culture. My favorite design feature? The bottle packs a fun and functional surprise, displaying “Solo Y Frío” under blacklight when chilled, so you know when it is ready to drink.

Smirnoff just rolled out new additions to the Spicy Tamarind line-up. The Smirnoff Ice Poco Pico Variety Pack is hitting shelves (and taste buds) with fan-favorite flavors – Spicy Tamarind, Mango Chili, Pineapple Jalapeño, and Spicy Margarita. Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind is currently available nationwide, to find out if any of the Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind variants are available near you, visit smirnoff.com
