Synonymous with fine chocolate, MarieBelle chocolates hosted a decadent debut of their appropriately named short film – “Chocolate is Magic”. As a dedicated fan of their hot chocolates, I was thrilled to join the famed brand at their SoHo shop for an evening of treats. The shop, covered wall to wall with ingeniously packaged sweets is quite simply a chocolate lovers dream. Decorated for the holidays, and the shop turns into a winter wonderland paradise.
Our hostess, CEO and Founder of MarieBelle – Mariebel Lieberman, was also celebrating her cover feature on the December 2018 run of Resident Magazine. Attended by Resident’s Editor in Chief Hillary Latos and publisher Christopher Pape, the festive event featured a screening of the new short film in addition to a buffet of ganaches, signature truffles, chocolate crepes, champagne, and a made for the evening chocolate martini.
Speaking to Mariebel herself, she revealed that her ties to her home country – Honduras – are a key ingredient to her success. The beans used to make the chocolate sold at MarieBelle New York are all sourced from plantations in Honduras. “And we work almost entirely with women farmers, that’s something that I am really passionate about,” she noted.
Produced by Neymarc Visuals and starring actress Haley Babula, Chocolate is Magic, takes place at the 484 Broome Street shop. You can watch it below:
