Target Beauty Box Review

So recently Target ran a promo where a certain number of people could purchase through their TargetStyle facebook page what I assume is Target’s beta testing on their own beauty subscription box. Luckily I was able to score one, and based on what I received in my box I sincerely hope that Target starts their own subscription service (and hopefully keeps it reasonably priced – this box was $5, which was awesome)!

Here’s what was inside:

TargetBeautyBox2

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (ARV $8.99) in 470 LUST-ROUS. I actually think that these strips are really very pretty – very “night on the town” appropriate.

Sample packets of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo and L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream. I am already a tremendous fan of L’Oreal Magic B.B. Cream – I bought the cream when it initially came out and have been a fan since. The sample was in the light shade, and since I have a tan right now I gave the sample to my mom who has very fair skin. As for the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo – I’ve heard great things and can’t wait to give it a try!

Fekkai Glossing Cream (2 oz – an ARV of around $10): my sister is a huge fan, but I’ve never tried it myself. It’s supposed to “add a dazzling touch to your hair” and also “adds brilliant shine and helps eliminate frizz”.

And last but certainly not least, a Gillette Venus and Olay Razor (ARV $11) in their new Sugarberry scent. I LOVE the original Venus and Olay razors – in fact they are my favorite razors, my razor standard upon which I measure all other razors – and I’m really excited to try their new version!

They also dropped in a $3 off $15 coupon in there, but it expired within a couple days of getting my box – which sucks because I would have definitely put it to good use!

Verdict: Loved this box, would even buy the same exact box again in a New York minute. It’s not a deal breaker, but I do wish the coupon had had a later expiration date. Based on this box, I think Target could give other subscription box services a run for their money – the value of this box was unbeatable.

Make sure you follow me on facebook and/or twitter – I promise to keep you updated if Target opens subscriptions to a beauty box!
