My NYFW experience kicked off with a bang last night at The MOMs Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show. Gone are the days of mom jeans and slouchy tees, last night these mom’s donned fashionable frocks and strutted their stuff for a number of worthy causes.
Among the causes were UN Shot @ Life – represented by Holly Pavlika, the Jason Taylor Foundation – represented by Katina and Zoe Taylor (wife and daughter of retired NFL Defensive End Jason Taylor), the Girl Rising Fund – represented by Tara Abrahams, Healthy Child, Healthy World – represented by Alysia Reiner, March of Dimes – represented by Victoria Recano and Maximilienne Burwell, and many more.
It wouldn’t be New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week without a few celebrity spottings!
New York Yankee CC Sabathia was present in support of wife Amber Sabathia, and kids Carsten, Jaden, Cyia, and Carter who all walked the runway for the PitCCh In Foundation:
Also sitting courtside – er, runway-side, was Amar’e Stoudemire, whose wife Alexis and children Assata, Ar’e, and Amar’e Jr. all walked the runway for the Amar’e Stoudemire Foundation.
Keeping company with Amar’e and CC was retired Yankee, Jorge Posada, whose wife Laura Posada strutted down the runway for the National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction.
Also strutting her stuff was WNBC’s Today in NY anchor Darlene Rodriguez!
This is the third Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show – with this season’s show being sponsored primarily by Whirlpool, Cottonelle, and Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer and presented by The Moms and SWWCreative.
This is a wonderful week in NY when all the best of fashion comes to show their lines – my niece is studying to be a stylist and the school brings her to the show
