Last night I attended one of the more exciting events that I’ve ever been to – the launch event for LG’s new black stainless steel line. The event was held at One World Observatory, located on the 100th floor of One World Trade Center, where, despite the rainy weather, we were treated to an amazing view among the clouds as well as a truly Pinterest-friendly event.
LG’s Vice President of Marketing, David VanderWaal was on hand to launch the line as well as HGTV’s Emily Henderson and David Bromstad (of HGTV’s Design Star, and My Lottery Dream Home) who had both designed their own mock kitchen at the event. Each kitchen demonstrated how beautifully and seamlessly the new LG Black Stainless Steel line can be implemented in the kitchen.
In between drool-worthy treats like shrimp, lobster, and bourbon-maple filled donuts as well as a towering One World Trade Center ice sculpture; there was also an exciting discussion panel hosted by Editor in Chief Sarah Peterson (HGTV Magazine), Architecture in Formation’s Matthew Bremer, Coldwell Banker’s Top Tier Real Estate Agent Sharon Steele, as well as Emily and David from HGTV. It was so interesting hearing so many differing viewpoints in regards to style, home, design, and real estate.
In terms of the kitchen and the significance of the room, I feel like Sarah really hit the nail on the head, she said “The kitchen is the new living room”, and she couldn’t be more right. I know personally everyone in my family congregates around food (and the kitchen) and more than ever are joining in on making food. When asked about what her clients are asking her for, Emily said “People want the Pinterest kitchen… they want style, they want it to be photogenic”. I can totally relate, if and when I redesign my kitchen, I will definitely refer heavily to my Pinterest kitchen board.
Speaking of which, LG is currently holding an exciting contest, which will be especially thrilling for those who have a passion for Pinterest!
LG Limitless Design Contest
To give kitchen design enthusiasts across the nation a unique opportunity to showcase their Pinterest skills, LG Electronics is inviting you to take part in the LG Limitless Design Contest and create your own kitchen design Pinterest boards inspired by Black Stainless Steel!
The contest, which runs through Jan. 29, 2016, encourages participants to pin elements that inspire and embody the theme each entrant selects (i.e., rustic country, beach house, American classic, retro chic, etc.). Boards will be judged based on creativity, diversity of pins and the contestants’ abilities to deliver on a distinct theme and/or tell a strong story.
Two grand prize winners will be selected and receive a complete kitchen suite of LG Black Stainless Steel Series appliances, $25,000 and a design consultation with Henderson or Bromstad to completely make over their kitchens. Pinterest fans can visit HGTV.com/LGContest to enter.
