I will be the first to tell you, I suffer from the worst seasonal allergies ever. I have a terrible allergy to pollen, and in the spring, if I don’t start the day off with a good dose of antihistamine then I’m going to end up a sneezing mess. However, sometimes I forget to take allergy relieving medicine before I leave for work, lucky for me there are Duane Reade’s to be found all over the city and one is never too far from where I am. Duane Reade has teamed up with the new Poncho app to provide New Yorker’s with everything they need to be prepared for allergy season!
What I love love love about the Poncho app is how simple and effective it is. For instance, last week I woke up, turned on my phone and an email was waiting for me from Poncho. When you sign up, you personalize the settings so that they’ll send you information relevant to you like when you leave for work and when you leave for home as well as the schedule (i.e. delay) information for the train you typically take.
They also provide you with the weather and the pollen count, and on days when the count is high they also give you a digital coupon (no need to print it folks) for allergy relief medicine. How great is that?!
On one such day, where the pollen count was high and my eyes were already itchy and watery and my throat was irritated, I headed to Duane Reade to find some relief from my allergies. I pulled up my Poncho email, grabbed some Benadryl Allergy and checked out. I bought some allergy relief and saved money in less then five minutes! See that’s why I love Duane Reade, and why I love the Poncho App – you can’t beat being well-informed and the reliability of knowing that Duane Reade will have what I need when I need it!
The Poncho App can be send via email, text, or both! For more information about the Poncho weather service app, check out this Mashable article here! To sign up click here.
I love that this app gives you the details about the allergy counts so you can be prepared! #client
