Recently I was sent the new HP X360 – a convertible hybrid laptop with all the bells and whistles. The X360 boasts a 360° flexible hinge, which allows the X360 to be used in laptop mode, tablet mode, stand mode, and tent mode. Basically, it’s amazing. In the spirit of having options, and the four modes of the HP X360, as well as HP’s role in Meghan Trainor’s That Bass Tour which you can check out here (I know, squee! So cool!) – I’ve put together 4 Ways to Care for You – a list that I hope inspires you to give yourself a little TLC!
Sometimes I get so busy that I forget to take care of myself. Little things that I like to do for myself like an occasional face mask, or nose strips, or a manicure will fall off my to-do list as I become overwhelmed with different demands on my time. It happens to the best of us. So here’s four easy ways to take a little time out of the chaos of day-to-day and care for yourself!
Buy yourself something! It doesn’t have to be anything crazy, it could be anything from a comfy pair of socks to a bouquet of flowers to a fancy new foundation or even (especially if you’ve been wanting it for a long time) a great new computer (wink, wink)! Taking even a small bit of your budget and getting something for you can make all that hard work seem worth it and can make the daily grind less tiresome.
Get dolled up – for you! Break out your best makeup, your falsies, and your nicest outfit. Watch your favorite YouTube beauty guru and try a new, wild, makeup look and have fun. You can go out or just stay in, but it always helps to remind yourself just how fabulous you are. Chances are that you’re your own harshest critic, so how about you #BendTheRules a little and be your biggest fan for a change! Still not convinced? Well, some studies have suggested that those with self-care skills tend to feel better and are even less stressed!
Watch an inspiring movie! Now, your definition of “inspiring” may vary – mine can range from ones that make you weep to ones that make you feel buoyant with hope for the future – my sister’s is strictly the latter. Since I’ve gotten my mitts of the HP X360, I’ve taken some time to re-watch some of my old favorites that always leave me feeling happy – like Under the Tuscan Sun, Chocolat, Letter’s To Juliet, The Joy Luck Club, etc. – the Beats Audio speakers mean that I get crystal clear sound every time! These always inspire me on a creative level, and occasionally give me a little bit of much needed perspective.
Dance! I’m a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad dancer. I make no bones about my ability to dance, I have two left feet and almost always bust my rear even doing simple steps from my at-home cardio DVDs. I spent my middle school Halloween dance jumping up and down because that was the extent of my public-friendly “moves”. But there is something ridiculously therapeutic about turning up my favorite tunes and dancing by myself, I even do it in the kitchen while I’m cooking. I pop my HP X360 up into tent mode and set my playlist going. It’s so fun, I like to think I dance like Dirty Dancing’s Baby (final scene) even though I know full well I’m definitely pulling an Elaine (Seinfeld).
I hope you get inspired to #BendTheRules and take some time to take care of you! Let me know what are your favorite ways to take care of yourself? Do you have a favorite way to show yourself a little TLC?

A special little pick me up always makes a person feel good and as you write it doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive. I’m a big fan of Milky Ways. Have fun with your new computer!
I too fall into buying myself a little something – nothing fancy but something that is just for me.
With a newbie and tot, there isn’t much me time… but I do love taking an early afternoon nap with my youngest while my toddler watches a movie next to me. It’s the best!
i agree that we need to take time for ourselves sometimes. being a mom i am more about my kids than me but i still need to make me happy. i love getting my hair highlighted and cut.
I love watching videos to learn how to do different styles with makeup.
Completely Outta’ Sight, I love it, be good to yourself <3 <3 <3
