Re-embracing Yoga for National Yoga Month

*This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.com*

For years yoga was my favorite fitness activity. I loved being able to stretch my body and work my muscles in a relaxing environment. Then it sort of fell by the wayside, I turned to more exuberant forms of workout because my goals were weight loss instead of maintenance. How wrong I was. People say do what you love, I think you should work out the way you love too. This month, National Yoga Month, I re-embraced my love for yoga. I not only tried a new yoga class, in a new studio, but I also started going to the park with my sisters for some early Saturday yoga. Luckily for me, this month I also received a BabbleBoxx full of goodies intended to help me get in touch with my inner yogi.

Yoga BabbleBox

I mentioned the new yoga class that I tried out – well, I did not know how seriously hard core yoga could be. I put a ton of core muscles to work, I know because I felt it the next day (and the day after that). Doing that on a regular basis? Yeah, that is not the easy workout I used to think yoga was. It’s a more demanding yoga, but is still remarkably relaxing. When looking for a protein powder to incorporate into my mornings, I always look for something the least complicated, the most trustworthy, and the best in flavor. I fell in love with Ascent Protein because the flavors – the lemon sorbet, vanilla bean, and chocolate – are great. The powder is easy to measure out and mix up, and it has gotten a ton of great reviews.

Ascent has also been making their own proteins for 30 years, there are no artificial ingredients, and they don’t “bleach” the protein. There is 25g of protein per serving, though I prefer half of that mixed into a shake after doing my workout. Right now you can use the code “YOGA” for 10% off your purchase!

Speaking of drinks, before I received my BabbleBoxx I had never ever tried kombucha before. I had seen KeVita’s bottles on the shelves at Whole Foods, and had heard from friends who love it that it’s really energizing and that it has probiotics. My thoughts? It is so, so good. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this for so long! I had my sister try it, she’s always looking for good probiotic products, and she’s obsessed now. The 11 flavors offered by KeVita include: Pineapple Peach, Dragonfruit Lemongrass, Blueberry Basil, and Lavender Melon.

Love Warrior

My sisters and I are now doing yoga together, but before that we have a sort of informal book club. When one of us reads a really good book, we tend to share it with the others. It’s always nice to have someone to talk about and pick apart books with – I’m currently reading Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle. On Oprah’s book club list, you know this one was bound to be a good read. Love Warrior is about the author and the experiences that lead to her writing this book and sharing with others on how she learned to confront pain and claim love.

Summers Eve Mandarin Blossom

I’ve been packing the book in my workout bag, along with some other items. I live about 2 hours away from where I take most of my classes, so being prepared is key. I also carry Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths. I’ve already written about these personal care cloths, which are great after a workout. They are not only free from harsh ingredients, but they also wipe away odor-causing bacteria. I think the Mandarin Blossom scent is new, and it’s amazing.

Stevia Kombucha

I used to stop by a bakery after spin, the city is full of places to get any kind of sweet you can imagine. I’ve been actively trying to replace some of my pastry habit with another favorite – strawberries naturally sweetened with In The Raw. I’ve been using this non-GMO sweetener forever, I carry packets in my purse for my afternoon coffee run.

Boss Foods

On those especially long days I’ve recently become obsessed with B.O.S.S. Bar. It’s exactly the boost I need when I’m hungry and I want something quick. My best friend, who pulled this out of my purse when she was hungry, is gluten free and loves these. She’s recently had to become gf and says it’s hard for her to find gluten-free snacks that she likes, and she literally bought some off amazon the day after she tried them.

Speaking of which, not only can you find B.O.S.S. bars on Amazon Prime, but right now you can get free shipping on any 5-pack or case of 12 on BOSSFoodCo.com with the code BABBLEBOSS. The offer is good until October 15th, so act fast!

I’m so glad that I’ve gotten back into yoga, and it’s so great that there are so many products out there that support an active lifestyle. What are your favorite workouts and what products help to keep you active?
