Feature Film Friday: Peggy Sue Got Married (1986)

I first saw Peggy Sue with my mom years ago on TV, and since then I’ve not only added it to my extensive DVD collection, but I also count it among my fav’s. In Peggy Sue Got Married Kathleen Turner stars as Peggy Sue Bodell, a mom who has recently separated with her high school sweetheart and husband Charlie- played by Nicholas Cage. Anyways, despite having Charlie’s promise to not show up to a high school reunion he shows, and sure enough Peggy is crowned the reunions “queen”. Peggy ends up passing out- and waking up back in time, in high school. Can Peggy re-write the past?

This movie walks the line between drama and comedy in ways that modern day romances struggle to achieve. This isn’t just a cheesy back-in-time dramedy, heartfelt issue’s are tackled right beside funnier situations. Ever wish you had told off that rude girl in high school? Peggy does. Ever wish that you could go back in time and tell your younger self to invest in Google? Peggy does (except her Google is The Beatles). Anyways, if you’ve got a couple hours to kill, why not do it living vicariously through Peggy?

Knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?

lol! I’ve seen it about that many times too! I’d do a couple of tweeks (tweeks meaning clever investments), but all my most embarrassing unbelievable moments make the best stories that I love telling now 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
