New In Beauty: butter LONDON’s Shine Out Loud Collection

Like most polish junkies, I’ve been a butter LONDON fan since the first time I applied their lacquer onto my nails. I actually used to go to the Sephora right by my school (I know, the convenience of being a city child) and test out the polishes almost every day with my best friends. Now that the favorite polish brand has ventured into the world of cosmetics, I’m more than excited to share my experience with their new Shine Out Loud collection – where they apply their strength in lacquer (we’re talking about that notorious high-shine and amazing color payoff) to the next generation of color cosmetics.

The Shine Out Loud collection features four products, their Iconoclast Mega Volume Lacquer Mascara, Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon in Ladybird, Trend Nail Lacquer in Ladybird, and Wink Eye Pencil in Union Jack Black. I’ve always loved the packaging for butter London because I’ve always felt that their design was very clean while also looking very distinct. The Shine Out Loud collection shares that aesthetic appeal.

I gave each product about a week and half of usage, but I pretty much knew that I loved them within the first few minutes of using them. I’ve been a relentless pusher of Rimmel’s ScandalEyes Liner, but the Wink Eye Pencil completely shocked me with how great of a liner it is. It glides on smoothly, exactly like ScandalEyes (and subsequently most high-end liners), but within seconds it had dried perfectly. Even my oily lids couldn’t budge it! Let’s not mince words, this is pretty much my favorite eyeliner, but better.

The nail lacquer – also in Ladybird – is probably the first bright red polish that makes me want to wear it all the time. It just looks lovely – fun, but still ladylike.

The Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon in Ladybird was the most adventurous piece of the collection for me. I don’t typically wear reds, being more of a pink & nude girl myself, but I actually really liked how the color looked on me. It really brought out my tan and I’m beginning to think I’m becoming a bright lip convert of sorts. While I love the color and the look of the lip crayon, it did require a couple of reapplications throughout the day.

The Iconoclast has the most amazing wand – with a rounded end that gives you application flexibility. I literally ooh-ed as I pulled the wand out of the tube. As for the formula, it’s a very rich, dramatic, glossy mascara and the packaging is so sleek that I can’t help but love seeing it in my makeup bag.

I am just recently late to the red bandwagon – I’ll be the first to admit that it can be an intimidating color, but the Ladybird lip crayon (and the polish) just looks so good that I forget to be nervous about the shade, lol!

This collection looks so gorgeous! Butter London always kills it, though, so I’m not surprised! The whole thing is a must have, but I’m especially interested in that mascara! The wand is so unique! Beautiful!
