BlogHer ’12, Part 2!

Day two was also a super eventful day for me. I started my morning off pretty late, so I didn’t get to the expo as early as I had hoped. I ended up trying and failing to meet up with Megan, but ended up meeting one of the nicest, funniest bloggers as I was wandering around – Lorrie Fenn – formerly of The Token Fat Girl, and now the creator and editor of her own online magazine Beautiful Layers! We ended up eating So Delicious ice cream bars and chatting up the Universal Studios The Host movie representative. She then took me up to the 42nd floor, to the suites that I had so forgetfully neglected. Thanks Lorrie- I probably wouldn’t have gone if you hadn’t reminded me!

Later in the afternoon I headed to the Tweet Suite – an event held by Enza (of enzasbargains) and Kristy (of adventuresofacouponista). I loved meeting the various sponsors- but most of all, I loved chatting with the editor of Health magazine! Towards the end of the event I even bumped into my friend Cinny – who btw does some seriously amazing foodie experience posts on her site – linked here!

After the Tweet Suite, me and Cinny walked back up to the Hilton and I showed her around one of the expo halls (having gotten the lay of the land) – which is where I picked up the most adorable swag that BlogHer ’12 had to offer – Herbie the Hot Pocket!

Some honorable mentions in the way of expo hall brands goes to Weleda – their booth smelled insanely good, and I just fell in love with their lotions, Martha Stewart and Staples – they had a gorgeous set up, and the representative that was there was really nice, Rickland Orchards Greek Yogurt Bars – not only were their bars extremely good, but their rep was amazing!

Cinny had to drop off her bags with a friend, so I continued my tour of another expo hall. Somewhere between the Bailey’s Irish Cream booth (yum!) and the Land ‘O Lakes booth (also yum!) I lost my phone. After nearly having a heart attack, and sorting through all my bags twice, I retraced my steps and found that I had left it at the Udi’s Gluten Free booth. The reps there were as happy as I was when I picked up my phone! One of the reps laughed, “I’m SO happy you came back! You’ve missed a lot of calls you know!”

As the expo hall was closing I bumped into Cinny and Jen from That Long Yellow Line – we chatted and discussed all the cool booths we had seen (like Jen, who had won a giftcard at the Retal Me Not booth – I was super jealous!).  And then I went off to meet my sister who was my date to…

A red carpet advance screening with The MOMs and One2One Network (which I’m a part of!) of Won’t Back Down starring Viola Davis, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Holly Hunter, and Rosie Perez! The stars were really nice and down-to-earth, and were especially open to discussing such a controversial subject as education. Here’s a video from the event:

I was completely exhausted by the time I got home, but I still had one day left to BlogHer and I sure wasn’t going to miss it- so stay tuned for BlogHer ’12 Part 3!
